Earthed-up was born out of the love of paints, colour and timbers and a desire to enhance, nourish and protect wood.
This vision sparked in the traditional sign writing industry (circa 1986). Seeing pigments ground in the mortar and pestle, and then transformed into signs on your walls.
Director Andrew King has been involved in many artistic projects over a 30-year period beginning with his sign-writing business and then working in prop making and scenic set finishing for film and TV. Andrew has also brought his creative skills to museums and exhibitions, from Tussauds in London to Te Hikoi in Riverton.
Andrew aims to share the joy and beautiful softness of natural earth pigment colours, plant oils and waxes in the most natural and sustainable way possible, while focusing on performance, quality and affordability.
